The 2014 MTV Movie Awards were handed out Sunday at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
The night kicked off with Jared Leto winning biggest on-screen transformation for Dallas Buyers Club a role for which he also earned an Oscar earlier this year.
“The Academy is really prestigious but this is unique because everybody has the right to vote and you get people from all over the world that chime in and say whatever you want to say so it means a lot,” Leto backstage of his win. “It’s nice to be able to get up on stage and to thank people directly.”
Conan O'Brien hosted the event, which aired live on MTV. Mark Wahlberg and Channing Tatum also were honored
Also during the show, new clips of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, X-Men: Days of Future Past and The Fault in Our Stars debuted. The latter was introduced by stars Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort.
Woodley told THR on the red carpet that she's been so focused on Divergent that "I'm excited to now know what's going on in the world. She added that her highlight was "seeing Nicki Minaj's ass as she passed by. ... I’ve never seen anything like that before. That was incredible.”
